Just wondering if the Nets is going to rebuild, or going to the playoff?

Our team is in a rebuilding mode, and we feel we have a nice young base of players for our future foundation in Devin Harris, Brook Lopez, and Yi Jianlian. This core is all 25 yrs old or younger, and have team friendly contracts. Our goal this year is to get these players a full season of valuable playing time, draft well, and be in a position within 2 years of being a serious contender.
On the business side of things we will look at moves to help us get younger, or that help us with the cap this year or down the road.

- Is D. Harris working to improve his game?... - Has Y. Jianlian ever considered leaving the NBA?... - Who will the Nets be targeting in the upcoming draft?... D. Harris has accepted the challenge we have given him to be the leader of this team and he is working tirelessly this offseason at our facilities. He is only 25, but as one of the vets he is in early lifting, working on his ballhandling, and outside shot. His ratings are about as steady as you will find in this league, but he can always improve. Yi has told us he is comfortable in the bigger east coast market, and is fully committed to winning a championship here with the Nets. I fully expect him to stay in the NBA as we have an owner who plans on taking this team global, and Yi knows there are many opportunities for him to use his International popularity to his advantage. As far as our upcoming draft, we have to take the best player avail, whoever that may be. We need talent, period. We have a long way to go, but the draft will be key for us. We feel like our biggest needs are SG's and SF's that can create their own shot. We have decent size and depth up front, and a very underrated PG.

@ Jay Z - Any truth to the rumour of changing the team's name?... Yo man...me and Mikhail have been going back and forth on this and we haven't came up with a name we agree on. Some of our ideas are "Brooklyn Rocs", "Brooklyn Gansters", or "Brooklyn KGB's." I'll let you figure out who wants which names...but it seems like we aren't going to agree anytime soon!

would u mind sharing about your view of recent trades in the league? I think the beginning of each season brings a certain optimism from each team. You can see some teams going for it now (Boston and Portland), some teams trying to fill pieces into their roster (Sacramento and New York) for now and the future. Our mindset is we are trying to be as competitive as we can now, but our eye is on the future. The deal with SAC fill a need for youth and depth at SF, while erasing some salary obligations going forward with next season. We feel as the season gets started you will see even more trades as teams feel out their roster.
